Compression pantyhose are a specialized hosiery designed to help prevent the occurrence of, and guard against further progression of, venous disorders such as edema, phlebitis and thrombosis. Compression stockings are elastic compression garments worn around the leg, compressing the limb.
Material
Sheer: Sheer tights offer a natural, smooth appearance, giving the look of perfect, silky legs with the added benefit of providing an even colour all over the leg - like make up. Available in subtle matt or high gloss finish, Sheer hosiery is anything with a denier between 15 denier tights and 30 denier. Sheer is also referred to as translucent or transparent. The materials which can be made translucent include gossamer, silk, rayon or nylon.These sheer fabrics can be made from natural fibres like cotton and silk, synthetic fibres like polyester and nylon or a mix of both fibre types. These stockings are also more transparent than the opaque styles and are often times worn more frequently as an elegant stocking. However, avoid a sheer stocking if you have moderate to severe edema, or swelling. With moderate to severe swelling it is best to wear a compression stocking that is a bit thicker and that will have better containment, such as an opaque stocking. Sheer compression stockings are thinner in material than an opaque stocking, they are great to wear during seasons with warmer weather. Sheer tights is worn typically during the spring / summer months when the weather gets a little warmer, as they offer you coverage but the sheer yarns will keep you cool. A sheer stocking is wonderful for warmer months, travelling to an area with warmer climate, and going to a fancy dinner, event, etc.

I'm 5'5 and 133lbs .... right between the medium and large sizes. I've never ordered this brand, so not sure how they fit, so not sure which size to order. Can someone give me a clue on this? Asked by Linda

Great Pantyhose for Improving Your Leg Health 3 people found this helpfulBest high quality compression hose at the lowest price out there. These hose are extremely durable and they wear like iron. As a T2 Diabetic man, I wear these to prevent swelling in my ankles & feet and they do that very well. In fact, nearly all of the dark spots on my legs have cleared up with regular wearing. I like these hose, they fit well, stay up all day no matter what activities I do, they are silky smooth, and glide well under pants. In the natural shades they are very sheer and pretty stealthy to wear with shorts in the warmer months. I wish I had put aside the stigma of a man wearing pantyhose and bought these 5 years sooner. I initially have worn the thigh highs but I feel pantyhose work more effectively at recirculating your blood back from your feet to your heart. Bottom line, if you're a man and you have painful varicose veins, have had a DVT or suffer from poor blood flow, it's not only OK to wear pantyhose especially, if it improves your quality of life and energy levels.
Advantages are low cost for a true compression product; plenty of sizes, especially for men; more than just 1 or 2 color choices; are easy to put on; this brand has the largest, most comfortable cotton gusset of any pantyhose made. This greatly improves the comfort factor for men; and finally they really help improve your leg health.
If these have any down sides it's the lack of colors (be nice to buy gray or coffee) and the queen plus size fits well but could be a little longer in the legs.
